Hanu Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of the Hanu app (package com.aigenerator.hanu), a Korean language learning app for Android, and of the optional Hanu Plus subscription. By installing or using Hanu, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who we are
Hanu is published by Hanu Labs. You can reach us at hanu.support@gmail.com.
The short version
- Hanu is free to download. Part of the content is free for everyone; the rest is unlocked with Hanu Plus.
- Hanu Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through Google Play. You can cancel at any time in Google Play.
- Hanu is a learning aid. We work hard on accurate Korean, but we cannot guarantee that the content is free of errors or that you will reach a certain level.
Using Hanu
You do not need an account to use Hanu. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the app, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and to any purchase.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Hanu on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial learning. You agree not to copy, resell, redistribute, reverse engineer or modify the app or its content, and not to use it in any unlawful way.
Free content and Hanu Plus
Some content is free, such as the first course units, beginner and A1 vocabulary decks and a limited number of daily game rounds. Hanu Plus unlocks the full course from A1 to B1, all vocabulary decks, all reading texts with audio, unlimited games and other premium features shown in the app. What is free and what is included in Hanu Plus may change over time as we add or rework content.
Subscriptions, billing and free trials
- Billing. Hanu Plus is sold through Google Play. Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The plans and prices available to you are shown in the app before you buy.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free trials and introductory offers. If a plan includes a free trial or introductory price, it is shown before purchase. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged automatically at the regular price.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling Hanu does not cancel your subscription. After cancelling, Hanu Plus stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Google, so refunds follow the Google Play refund policy. This does not affect any rights you have under the law of your country.
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, Google Play will tell you in advance, as required by its rules, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Restoring purchases. Hanu Plus is tied to the Google account you bought it with. Use Restore purchases in the app to unlock it on a new device signed in to the same Google account.
Your progress
Your progress and settings are stored on your device. If you uninstall the app, clear its data or change devices, this progress may be lost; your Hanu Plus subscription itself can always be restored. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Content and intellectual property
The app, its lessons, texts, audio, illustrations, the Hanu character and the Hanu name belong to Hanu Labs or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not give you any rights to them other than the licence to use the app described above.
Third-party services
Hanu relies on services from third parties, including Google Play for payments, RevenueCat for managing subscriptions, Google Firebase for analytics and crash reports, and your device's speech recognition and text-to-speech engines for speaking and listening exercises. Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and their own terms apply.
Changes to the app
We may update, improve, add or remove features and content. We will not remove core paid features from an active Hanu Plus subscription during a period you have paid for without a fair reason, such as a legal or technical requirement.
Disclaimer
Hanu is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that the content is completely accurate, or that using it will lead to a particular result, such as passing an exam.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Hanu Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Hanu is limited to the amount you paid for Hanu Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending your use
You can stop using Hanu at any time by uninstalling it; remember to cancel any active subscription in Google Play. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update this page and the effective date above, and announce significant changes in the app. If you keep using Hanu after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply.
